"Lei era così, ruvida al tatto. Le cose non le mandava a dire e il suo essere così schietta assomigliava molto a un bisogno estremo di difendersi.
Sapeva anche essere dolce, a tratti. Ma la sua dolcezza si trasformava ben presto in riluttanza, era selvaggia come un gatto quando improvvisamente smette di fare le fusa e attacca. È così che lei riempiva i cuori di graffi".
